Mission Minded
Education is something near and dear to my heart. It is also near and dear to the hearts of those
people involved with making E3 Christian Academy a reality for 2017 and 2018.
As a team, we have spent much time talking, planning and praying over the
school year ahead of us and the students we are blessed to work with.
Our desire is to help
the students receive a quality education with a Biblical worldview. It is
mastery based so they are not pushed through without a clear understanding of
the concepts they are learning. It is individualized so that we can meet their
educational needs right where they are. It is a perfect mixture of a self-directed,
project oriented, experiential learning and teacher led academia. And all of
that has great value and is necessary for the well-rounded education the students
need.
But, there is a deeper mission than simply providing a Texas
Scope and Sequence driven curriculum and hands-on empirical type learning! Our highest calling is to address the needs
of the spiritual nature with each student who walks through these doors. Our
passion is to make an impact eternally on the hearts of these kids. If they can
ace the SAT’s and be accepted into the most prestigious universities our country
has to offer but they don’t know Jesus, we have failed in our true pursuit as
the leaders of this school.
Oh, I understand it is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, draw
and lead one to salvation. I am not confused about that. But, it is our job to
provide an atmosphere in which the Spirit can move and provide an opportunity for
the Lord to do a work only He can do. It is our job to let our light so shine
that passion for the Lord is caught and not taught. It is our job to walk in
such integrity that the excuse of hypocrisy is made null and void. It is our job
to love unconditionally with grace and mercy as an overflow in our walk with
the Lord to the students. It is our job to represent Him well so that they see
the genuineness of a believer who is sold out to the God they serve. We, as a team,
take that role seriously. It is our mission and we are mission minded.
“You are
the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness
be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and
trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a
hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let
your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give
glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16
